PLAN

Streef Produce Ltd. is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Ontario’s accessibility laws. All employees working closely with the public are trained in AODA 2005 requirements

Training

All staff are trained in accessibility standards and the relevant aspects of the Ontario Human Rights Code that relate to people with disabilities.

Facility

Our facility welcomes all people with disabilities as we are equipped with wheel chair accessible entrance and exit doors, meeting rooms and a washroom. Due to Food Safety/Health and Safety regulations, visitors are not permitted inside of the packing facility. Washrooms are properly labelled with AODA approved colours and braille. Print materials are of appropriate colour, location and font. Obstacles are not present. Receptionist and management are available to assist customers and visitors. Streef Produce Ltd. offers parking lot service for those who are unable to enter our building.

Feedback

Streef Produce welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible customer service. Customer feedback will help us identify barriers and respond to concerns. Feedback can be given in person, over the phone (519-458-4311) or online via email to mikayla.streef@streefproduce.com. We can arrange for accessible feedback and alternate formats upon request.

Documentation

Our Accessibility Policy can be found on our Health & Safety bulletin board or in the main office.

Policy Changes

This policy will be reviewed annually or when needed. All changes will be recorded and updated immediately and the proper personnel will be notified.

Streef Produce Ltd. is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. Our plan shows how we will play our role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.

The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years. All staff have been formally trained on AODA requirements.

Barriers

Our brand new office facility welcomes all people with disabilities as we are equipped with wheel chair accessible entrance and exit doors, meeting rooms and an accessible washroom. Washrooms are properly labelled with AODA approved colours and braille. Print materials are of appropriate colour, location and font. Receptionist and management are formally trained and available to assist all customers and visitors. Our front reception desk is of various heights to accommodate different persons. Obstacles are not present and our office is 100% barrier free.

Streef Produce Ltd. also offers parking lot service for those who wish to not enter our building. 

Strategies & Actions

Streef Produce is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods, services and facilities to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.

The initiatives we plan to continue/implement in order to be compliant are:

Training new staff in AODA standards.
Ensuring any new structures are equipped with accessible doors, spaces, counter tops and washroom facilities.
Maintain good, bright lighting.
Ensure signage is always clear, bold and of large font.

Communication

Streef Produce is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities. We will always keep in mind all AODA standards when posting content on our website and media pages as well as any signage/memos needed in our facility.

We accomplish this by creating a workplace built on the strength of trust, accountability, and integrity in all our business practices Workplace violence, discrimination and harassment is not welcomed at Streef Produce Ltd. Streef Produce Ltd. strives every day to create a safe and positive working environment for all employees, management, contractors and visitors.

Streef Produce service staff are trained in emergency response, individualized accessibility plans, return to work practices and proper accessible communication methods. Any new staff hired in the customer service sector will receive the same AODA training.
